Thonglor-Ekkamai Road Area

The Thonglor-Ekkamai Road area is one of Bangkok’s most popular entertainment and dining areas, well known for its classy bars, boutique shops, fashionable clubs and restaurants serving practically any regional cuisine you can think of. This has traditionally been the domain of ultra-fashionable and moneyed Thais. More and more foreigners have been enjoying the Thonglor-Ekkamai scene, attracted by a more sophisticated environment than found in other places to party in Bangkok. Thonglor is the name given to Soi Sukhumvit 55, and Ekkamai is Soi Sukhumvit 63. The Thonglor and Ekkamai BTS stations are on Sukhumvit Road at the mouth of each soi. Thonglor is where the action started, but many exciting new ventures are also spreading out to Ekkamai. Bangkok’s newest dining concepts and the latest music trends often land in Thonglor.
